What is Nickel Mesh Products?

The Hydromesh nickel mesh product range is a three-family catalogue of pure-nickel electrode materials — woven nickel mesh for catalyst support substrates, knitted nickel mesh for porous transport layers, and nickel wire for current collectors — manufactured in Ni200, Ni201 and N6 grades for alkaline electrolyzer, chlor-alkali, battery and filtration duty. Every SKU ships with a Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1) and a traceable heat number, produced under ISO 9001:2015 process control.

Selection guide

The table below compares the options most often quoted for nickel mesh products enquiries.

Product familyKey specificationTypical applications
Woven nickel mesh 30-60 mesh, 0.19-0.30 mm wire, plain / twill / Dutch weave Hydrogen (AWE) electrodes, chlor-alkali anodes
Knitted nickel mesh 660-1,150 g/m², 0.16-0.19 mm wire, single jersey / interlock AWE porous transport layers, batteries, filtration
Nickel wire (Ni200/Ni201) 0.025-8.0 mm, annealed, min 30% elongation Current collector lead wire, chlor-alkali, batteries

How to request a quote

  1. Step 1

Send your specification — product family, grade (Ni200/Ni201/N6), mesh count or packing density, wire diameter, quantity and certification standard.

  2. Step 2

Our applications team reviews the requirement and replies within one business day — within 24 hours on working days — with availability, lead time and pricing.

  3. Step 3

Confirm the proforma invoice; a sample Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1) is included with the quote, and a free 100×100 mm sample is available for standard mesh specifications.

  4. Step 4

Production, inspection and shipment proceed with the full documentation package — 100% of shipments include the lot-specific MTC.

Certification & traceability

Manufacturing is ISO 9001:2015 certified, and 100% of shipments include an EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate — OES chemistry, laser micrometer wire trace, optical mesh count and ASTM E8 tensile results — with a traceable heat number on every roll. Technical enquiries receive a substantive reply from a named materials engineer within one business day (within 24 hours on working days), and a sample MTC is included with every quote so your quality team can verify the documentation format up front.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What nickel mesh products does Hydromesh offer?

Three families, all pure nickel: woven nickel mesh (30-60 mesh standard range, custom 20-400, plain/twill/Dutch weave), knitted nickel mesh (660-1,150 g/m² packing density, 85-98% porosity, single jersey and interlock), and nickel wire in Ni200, Ni201 and N6 grades (0.025-8.0 mm diameter, annealed temper).

Which product should I choose for an alkaline electrolyzer electrode?

Use woven mesh (30-40 mesh, 0.25-0.30 mm wire, Ni201, electropolished) as the catalyst support substrate, knitted mesh (660-850 g/m², Ni201) as the compressible porous transport layer, and Ni201 annealed wire (0.5-2.0 mm) as the current collector lead wire. The three positions have different mechanical requirements — one material cannot solve all three.

What is the difference between Ni200 and Ni201 grades?

Carbon content: Ni200 allows 0.15% C maximum, Ni201 limits it to 0.02%. In KOH above 80°C, Ni200 forms grain-boundary carbides that hot electrolyte selectively dissolves, causing intergranular corrosion after 20,000+ hours; Ni201 removes that failure path and supports 60,000+ hour stack lifetimes. Below 80°C, Ni200 is generally acceptable.

What certifications and documents ship with each order?

100% of shipments include an EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate — OES chemistry, optical mesh count, laser micrometer wire trace and ASTM E8 tensile results — plus RoHS and REACH compliance declarations. EN 10204 3.2 (third-party witnessed) certificates are available on request.
